ACROSS THE COUNTY

River towns, hill country and everything in between.

Portsmouth is one of the oldest cities in Southern Ohio, and many of its homes date back generations. Older houses often have aging furnaces, boilers or ductwork that was never designed for central air. Out in Wheelersburg, Lucasville and Minford, you'll find newer subdivisions and country homes on larger lots, often heated with heat pumps, propane or electricity.

The Ohio River valley also brings heavy summer humidity. An air conditioner that's oversized, aging or low on refrigerant may cool the air without pulling enough moisture out of it, leaving the house cool but clammy. Right-sizing your system, and choosing equipment with good humidity control, makes a noticeable difference here.

UTILITIES & REBATES

Local know-how

Scioto County homes heat with a real mix of fuels: natural gas in Portsmouth and the larger towns, and propane, heat pumps or electric heat out in the hills. Older homes near the river may have boilers, limited ductwork or electrical panels that need attention before a new system goes in. Because summers here are humid, we pay close attention to sizing and airflow so your AC removes moisture instead of just cooling the air. Ask about current manufacturer and utility rebates when you call.

LOCAL QUESTIONS

Questions, answered.

Do you serve all of Scioto County?

Yes. We serve Portsmouth, Wheelersburg, Lucasville, Minford, South Webster and the surrounding communities. Call (740) 779-0079 to confirm your address.

Do you work on boilers?

Yes. We repair, maintain and replace hot water boilers, which are common in many of the area's older homes.

Can you help with a house that feels clammy in summer?

Yes. Clamminess usually means the AC isn't removing enough moisture, often because it's oversized, low on refrigerant or has airflow problems. We'll find the cause and recommend a fix.
